Harness Magazine Interview

Lately, I’ve been trying to connect more with the writing and book-loving community on social media. So when I saw Harness Magazine’s Instagram call for interviews with women writers, I knew it was an opportunity I shouldn’t miss. As writers, it’s easy for our work to get lost in the internet noise, so any chance to share our stories feels like a win.

Even though I don’t always write consistently—life and a full-time job often get in the way, I know, excuses—I put myself out there. I’m not one to talk about myself much, but I figured this would be good practice in sharing both my work and my journey as a writer. Thought I should have provided a link to my poetry book.

The interview process was straightforward—Harness sent a list of questions, and I chose the ones that resonated with me. You can read my full responses [here](link to the article). I skipped a few questions, like “What inspired you to start writing Mirthful Sorrows and explore horror folklore in your novel?” Honestly, I hesitated because the answer felt deeply personal. Opening up about what drives my writing makes me feel vulnerable, and that’s something I’m still learning to be comfortable with, publicly at least.

In the end, I’m glad I did the interview. My favorite part of the experience might be the photos my sister and her husband took, but the words I shared were not bad either.

I’d love to know what you think if you check out the article.
