The Metro Singer

My life has taken a few turns this year, it’s been wonderful in many ways and difficult in some other ways.  Overall I can’t complain because there is still health in my family and we all have jobs and whether we are all having a bad or a good day, there is always love.

Sharing this about my life doesn’t seem to have anything to do with this video I uploaded, but it does make a lot of sense to me because I can clearly remember two days in this year that I’ve been wandering, a bit sad you could say, and confused too.  I was wondering both days coming out of the metro station thinking to myself how much of a break I needed, vacations or just a few days away from everything and as I went up the escalator on both times this guy happened to be right on the same spot singing.

The first time I listened to him I was in a hurry, and I felt so sad that I couldn’t hang around to listen and I didn’t have any cash to give to him.  I told myself the next time I’d see him I would stay a bit no matter what, and I would always carry some cash just in case I found him.  I saw him a second time and never asked him his name.  I don’t know if he does this for a living or just as a hobby.  I am pretty skeptical about miracles and all of those fuzzy, fantasy cute things, but as I was giving a bit of cash and he smiles to me and said thank you, I smiled back and told him, not really *thank YOU*.

He probably has no idea what his singing has meant to me, I’ve heard people telling him to get a *real job*, saying that he *seems crazy*, my only hope is that others like myself that sometimes walk around on those busy days thinking they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, take a deep breath and on difficult days actually stop and smell the roses or like I’ve been lucky a few times this year, stop and listen to the metro singer.
